Our Team
Michael du Toit
Michael du Toit has specialised as a microbiologist, geneticist and biochemist, with extensive history in dealing with both human and plant pathology. As a medical and biological scientist, he believes in using quantitative approaches to properly understand and rectify underlying pathology to treat a diverse range of conditions.
He is passionate about improving people’s quality of life, through precision nutrition and about building a relationship with every client, on a personal basis to better understand the client’s needs. Michael is in possession of a Bachelors in Science, and both Honours and Master’s degrees in applied microbiology and genetics, obtained from the University of Pretoria. He is currently registered at the NHA (Natural Healers Association) as an ethno-healthcare practitioner, and is currently enrolled at Stellenbosch University as a PhD candidate and the manager of the Lombardi molecular pathology laboratory at Stellenbosch University.
Stephen Luther
Stephen has been a lifelong health and wellness enthusiast. Having operated in the fitness industry for many years, Stephen has developed a strong passion for helping others achieve an optimized standard of living.
Having recognized a lack of adequate interventions in the South African health and wellness industry, he decided to partner up with Michael Du Toit in starting Solace, hoping to help address this need.
He is currently working at FOTIA Fitness, an esteemed gym facility in Pretoria East, South Africa, where he dedicates his time to seeing clients full time.

SAQI
SAQI (The South African Quality Institute) aims to contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a Quality Culture Benchmark, in South Africa and plays a leading role in establishing and sustaining a National Quality Infrastructure that enhances the competitiveness of South African Economy, particularly in those sectors that do not benefit from legislated Quality.
SOLACE’s manufacturer enjoys full SAQI membership which is committed to the delivery of safe and effective products to consumers. In order to meet this commitment, utmost priority is placed on the safety, efficacy and quality of all products. SOLACE’s manufacturer is accountable for ensuring product quality, and consumer safety. This is monitored by a QC officer (Quality Control), a QA officer (Quality Assurance) and sign-off from a RP (Reporting Pharmacist). This dedication to quality means manufacturing performance is monitored and regularly reviewed to ensure standards of conduct meet high expectations of quality for our customers. The manufacturing facility is environmentally monitored and all products are correctly stored to avoid degradation or contamination.

FSSC 22000
The FSSC 22000 is complete certification scheme for Food Safety Management Systems that demonstrates a commitment to food safety and a variety of benefits that will impact different parts of a manufacturing process.
SOLACE’s manufacturer is certified with a complete FSSC 22000 scheme which provides a systematic methodology to effectively identify and manage food safety risks. This certification is recognized by the GFSI and by the European cooperation for Accreditation (EA). The scheme stipulates internal benchmarking and management through consistent application across multiple/international sites and promotes the review of and continual improvement of food safety management systems. Many food industry organisations support the FSSC 22000 scheme as industry best practice for food safety and actively seek this GFSI certification as a pre-requisite to their supplier approval process.

HPA
The HPA has been serving South Africa’s health interests since it was founded in 1976. This non-profit organization represents the South African Natural Health and Wellness Industry including Health Supplements (HS) and Discipline Specific (DS) Complementary Medicines (CMs) industry.
SOLACE’s manufacturer is registered with the HPA, as the HPA acts as the authoritative voice of the natural health and wellness products industry. The HPA supports the interests of its members in all legislative and regulatory issues; promotes Good Manufacturing Practice to ensure product quality, safety and efficacy; provides responsible information for consumers, and encourages industry to achieve its highest potential. The HPA serves to act as a body that protects consumers against exploitation by unethical practices, to act as a central information point to promote and cooperate with the media in representing industry interests, to promote cooperation between various international and local associations, medical bodies and fraternities in order to encourage mutual understanding, as well as helping to promote and develop networking opportunities for members to export and import products.
